Suitable for:

Langweer

On the edge of the Langweerderwielen lies Langweer, an old village with a rich history. Especially in the summer, many tourists visit Langweer for the cozy atmosphere in the village and for sailing on the lake.

Terhorne

On the shores of the Sneekermeer lies the village of Terhorne, which means ‘on the corner.’ This watersports village is also known for the children’s book series ‘De Kameleon.’ There are many playgrounds and recreational facilities for children, making it a great destination for families as well.

Heerenveen

Heerenveen is the largest town in Friesland. It is one of the most sports-oriented places in Friesland, home to the Thialf ice stadium and the Abe Lenstra stadium. Besides being a sports city, Heerenveen is also a place with cozy restaurants and charming shops.

Sloten

The smallest of our eleven cities, Sleat. A cozy village by the water. The city center boasts beautiful old residential houses and fortifications. The town has a rich maritime history, which is on display at the local museum.

Heeg

Heeg is the haven for water sports enthusiasts. In this vibrant water sports village, right on the Heegermeer, you’ll find cozy terraces by the water. The quaint town center also has several charming shops where you can enjoy shopping.
